Velayuthapatnam PHC Adoption by Riya Murugrappan

This December, we had the great opportunity to adopt a Primary Health Center in Velayuthapatnam near my mother’s hometown. We had a meeting with Dr. Alugadas, who gave us information about the PHC. Dr. Alugudas has given us a list of equipment that is needed at the PHC, and told us about the work that they do. Velayuthapatnam’s PHC conducts medical camps, and they have identified various diseases that are commonly seen amongst the area, with the most prominent being hypertension and diabetes. We will be visiting the PHC this June 2023. We hope to find ways to improve the quality of the PHC and aid in renovation projects.
