During this event, I, along with other middle and high school students, cooked and served hot breakfast for unhoused guests. These guests are a part of Matthew’s Hope's program, designed to help people that are currently struggling with homelessness. Matthew’s Hope is located in Winter Garden and has been running for about 12 years. Along with providing breakfast, we connected with the attendees and were able to interact and learn from them. My group and I played games, such as Jenga, with the guests. The opportunity to participate in this non-profit organization allowed us to give back to the community and have enlightening interactions with the guests. This was an excellent opportunity for us to serve and learn more about the people in our community.
