CHF had the opportunity to fundraise at the India Fair hosted by the Indian American Business Association & Chamber of Orlando to aid in our mission to improve primary healthcare centers. As part of our fundraising process, we were able to educate the attendees by having one-on-one conversations about the impacts of our project. We collected donations from willing attendees and encouraged students to join the volunteer program as a way to get involved with projects while also earning highschool community service hours. Our volunteers learned a lot as they got to hone their public speaking, conversational, and monetary skills along the way. CHF students also got the opportunity to meet with influential representatives such as the Mayor of Ocoee, Maxwell Frost, who is the first member of Generation Z to be elected to Congress. Overall, this fundraising event fostered new relationships within the Indian community in Orlando while also helping raise awareness about the issues CHF is aiming to mitigate.
