CHF recently launched a new initiative to conduct health screening for the homeless and uninsured population of Orlando. Our students were trained by primary healthcare physicians, Dr. Gowri Mehendran and Dr. Venkat Nandham. Students learnt how to measure blood pressure using manual and digital blood pressure monitors, blood glucose levels using glucometers, hemoglobin levels using test kits, and calculating body mass index.

We launched our first health screening on March 11, 2023, at the International Women’s Day celebration. Our program was well received and appreciated by the attendees as they got to learn about how our initiative impacts the community and got a free health screening as a trial for our efforts to expand to greater demographics.
